community-based study with a bold new vision for Allen and Pike Streets
that includes median beautification and improving pedestrian safety,
waterfront connections, public spaces, and historical interpretations
related to an immigration theme.
Chinatown
Access and Circulation Study Potential Initiatives

Manhattan Development Corporation, July 2004)
Commenced
in the summer of 2003 in partnership with the NYC Department of
Transportation, the study focuses on vehicular and pedestrian concerns
that affect quality of life in Chinatown/ Major focus ares include
Park Row, Chatham Square, Coach Busses, and other Bus and Van Services
Parking and Streetscape.

Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow (Columbia University Urban Planning
Studio, Spring 2003)
The Planning
Studio conducted a major study of the neighborhood, analyzing the
area's economy, social, physical and housing characteristics to
make a series of recommendations to help create a vibrant neighborhood,
with a strong and diverse economy.
